There's that word again; "heavy". Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the earth's gravitational pull?

Have you ever been carried on someone's shoulders? Sure you have. But, have you ever been carried on someone's shoulders for the entire hike to Timpangos Cave, then carried all the way through the cave, and then carried them all the way back down? No? I know someone who has done that for someone.....And, he did it for free. In fact, he even paid for this person's ticket. So, you know, if you want to do the hike--but not walk the hike--Bert is your man.




Obviously I would've done this if I had known at the beginning that these rides were available. Although, I think everyone initially looked like they are perfectly capable of hiking 1 1/2 miles up a canyon.



And then we walked for about five minutes and someone suggested that anytime the kids were tired that they let us know so that we could take a break.






Eventually, this is how Jared let us know.










It wasn't all bad, taking frequent breaks. We were able to do lots of things.....

Like.....

making faces at the people who walked by

sitting on the edge of cliffs

taking happy family photos in the scenery

picking up rocks and hiding them in our onesies

By the time we got to the top I thought, now the adventure can begin! And begin it did! Not five minutes into our cave tour, someone had to go to the bathroom. Can you guess who?



Did you know that there are no bathrooms inside the cave? Yeah, me neither. You know, come to think of it, there weren't any concession stands either....but, that is neither here nor there.
Anyways, the tour guide was able to come up with a solution to this problem--apparently he carries around blue bags that have sealable tops for kids just like Ethan. So, you can probably guess who had to carry the blue bag through the rest of the cave tour.....yeah, the same guy who is carrying another person the whole time. Don't worry, it was in his pocket. Yum.


Later on, we were able to see a lot of really cool rock formations. One of them was called "the carrot". Basically it looks like a big carrot sticking out of the ceiling and every couple of seconds water drips down the tip.













Why anyone is letting this kid drink more water is beyond me.

My favorite part is how the tour guide went into a 5 minute schpeel about how they used to let people touch the rock formations, but now they don't because they are starting to wear away--and the moment they are in hands reach, Jared grabs them. It was awesome.








I wonder where he got that idea from anyway....
