We had Julie's Bridal Shower on Saturday. *Sigh* It feels like only yesterday that we had a bridal shower for Mary . . . . Anyways, we decided to do a holiday themed bridal shower for Julie because, well, we already had the Halloween decorations up at Angie's house and I didn't want to have to be the one who took them all down. Deborah made her delicious sugar cookies that were holiday-themed, which--I think, really pulled the bridal shower holiday theme together!
Brady also made some delicious food for the bridal shower. We decided to have an early morning bridal shower for 2 reasons: #1 - Julie really wanted Brady to make his Blueberry French Toast bake and #2 - The BYU football game was on in the afternoon.
So, everyone was assigned a holiday that they needed to work their gift around. It worked out surprisingly well, and it was a lot of fun to hear about everyone's holiday traditions and things they thought Julie and Seth would enjoy. My favorite part of the event is something, unfortunately, we don't have any pictures of. After Mary did the Grocery Game, we had Pat, Jon, Bert, Seth, and Jared all come over and roll up their pant legs and take their shoes off. Then we blind-folded Julie and made her touch all the legs and guess which legs were Seth's legs. She guessed Seth's legs correctly, but my favorite part was when Angie jumped in and rolled her pant leg up. Julie thought only guys were sitting there so, of course, she was very confused. Then, after she guessed all the legs, we informed Julie that all the guys were going to now kiss her on the cheek and she had to guess which one was Seth. At this point, we had all agreed that Seth would come up and kiss her on the lips. It was pretty hilarious because Julie made this face like she had just eaten something rotten as Seth tried to pull her in for the lip-lock. Probably the most romantic kiss they have ever had, I'm pretty sure. Well, we took off her blindfold so she could see that it was Seth that had kissed her, and, of course, no one else had tried to kiss her. Because that's just gross. Anyways, so Seth stuck around for Julie opening presents. I have a couple of ideas as to which gifts were his favorite ones:
Julie wouldn't let Seth even the "cute pajamas" (as she called them)
Now this person knows how to celebrate New Year's!! Yee-haw!
At the end of the day, I think Julie was pretty happy with the shower, and that's all that matters.
